Canelo Álvarez Discusses Future Plans Outside Boxing

Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez has cemented his place as one of boxing’s greatest stars. As the first undisputed super middleweight champion, Canelo’s journey has been remarkable since he claimed his first world title at age 20. Currently 36, the renowned Mexican boxer shared insights about his career and future in an exclusive interview with ‘CBS Mornings.’

Speaking with Nate Burleson, Canelo explained how he would recognize the right moment to retire from the sport. ‘When I’m in the gym, and I’m taking a lot of punches, and my body doesn’t respond like it used to, then I’ll know,’ he said. ‘I won’t enter a fight if my training doesn’t meet the required standard. Training camp reveals everything.’

With over 60 victories and titles in four weight divisions, Álvarez reflected on his current status. ‘I feel good, but there’s not much left for me to achieve in boxing,’ he stated. He expressed interest in pursuing objectives outside the ring.
