The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has officially announced the end of an outbreak caused by a microscopic parasite. This parasite previously sickened thousands across the country. It had been traced back to shredded iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico.
The decision to declare the outbreak over follows a noticeable decline in infections. The removal of contaminated lettuce from both stores and restaurants played a crucial role in this decline.
On July 26, a truck was seen carrying produce from a Taylor Farms facility located in Doctor Mora, Mexico. Such actions are part of the broader efforts to address the issue.
