Rapper and Donald Trump supporter, Nicki Minaj, unleashed a strong verbal attack on New York’s Democratic Governor, Kathy Hochul. This followed a playful suggestion that Minaj could become the next White House press secretary.
On Wednesday, Minaj made a post on X where she labeled Hochul as “evil” and forewarned that the governor would “not escape God’s wrath.” Additionally, Minaj called on “BLACK PEOPLE” and “CHRISTIANS” to cast their votes for Hochul’s Republican challenger, Bruce Blakeman.
In response, Hochul dismissed Minaj’s attack by advising the rapper to “get outside.” Trump’s influence appears to remain among some celebrities, despite his declining approval ratings since taking office in 2025. Recent polls suggest Hochul is a strong contender for her re-election in the upcoming New York midterms.
Kathy Hochul is an evil woman. The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them. Downward spiral for her. She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance.
In another post, Minaj shared a snippet of a controversial statement by Hochul from 2024, where Hochul commented on Black youth in the Bronx having limited exposure to technology. Minaj reacted, urging constituents not to support Hochul.
Minaj claimed, “HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU NEED TO SEE & HEAR FROM THEM?!! HOW DARE YOU AS BLACK PEOPLE VOTE FOR THIS VILE WICKED CURSE OF A WOMAN? HOW DARE YOU AS CHRISTIANS?! SHE STAYS SILENT ON HARM BEING CAUSED TO THE INNOCENT & THIS IS WHAT SHE THINKS OF YOUR CHILDREN! Vote BLAKEMAN!”
Hochul later expressed regret over her earlier remark, stating, “I misspoke and I regret it. Of course Black children in the Bronx know what computers are.” In addressing Minaj’s comments, Hochul suggested the rapper broaden her perspective and criticized her association with Trump events.
A journalist documented Hochul’s response, garnering attention on X, with over 2,200 likes. Minaj recently accompanied Trump at a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung humorously proposed Minaj as a potential White House Press Secretary in a video post that quickly went viral, gathering over 5.4 million views and 32,000 likes. The official White House X account reacted with a playful emoji.
