Charges Filed for Threats in Case of Teen’s Death

Nolan Wells, a Black teenager, was discovered deceased on a Mississippi island following Fourth of July festivities with friends. This case recently led to legal charges not directly connected to the death itself, but rather due to threats against pivotal figures involved in the investigation.

Three individuals now face accusations of threatening witnesses, officials, and the judge associated with the case. This development was highlighted when Christine Wonsley and her spouse Elmore Wonsley, both parents of the late teen, attended the National Urban League’s annual conference on July 30 held in Nashville.
