Allegations Against Bryon Noem
Bryon Noem, husband of former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, has been accused of using a phone number linked to his insurance business for paid calls over several years. A sex worker named Shy Sotomayor, known online as Raelynn Riley, claims Noem maintained a long-running online relationship with her, expressing an interest in transitioning.
Sotomayor provided recordings and messages to support her claims, showing years of paid calls and personal conversations. The phone number she cites is previously associated with Bryon Noem, according to a report by The Independent. Among the messages, Noem discussed feminization and a desire to be referred to as “Crystal.” While he responded to the allegations by saying they are “not all true,” he did not specify which parts he disputed.
Newsweek has reached out for comment from Bryon Noem and Kristi Noem’s representative but has not received a public response.
Profile of Bryon Noem
Bryon Noem, 56, is an insurance executive in South Dakota. Despite his wife’s prominent political career, he has stayed largely out of public view. Married for over 30 years, the couple has often portrayed themselves as a conservative Christian family. However, this image is challenged by multiple women who describe paid online interactions with him.
Sotomayor and others allege Bryon Noem engaged in sessions focused on feminization and transition-related fantasies, using aliases like “Crystal” and “Chrystalballz666.” Sotomayor claims she only realized his identity after seeing a PayPal invoice where he failed to switch pseudonyms.
Implications of the Allegations
According to Sotomayor, Bryon Noem paid tens of thousands of dollars over nearly a decade, using methods such as Amazon gift cards and digital platforms. His utilization of his business phone for calls and payments has sparked interest from ethics and national security specialists. A former CIA officer warned that such behavior might present vulnerabilities if identified by hostile intelligence services.
The allegations are at odds with Kristi Noem’s political history. As the Governor of South Dakota, she has endorsed laws restricting gender-affirming care for minors, limiting transgender participation in sports, and allowing businesses to deny services to LGBTQ individuals. Sotomayor’s assertions about Bryon’s private conduct present a stark contrast to his wife’s public policies.
She recounted how Noem expressed a desire to transition, contradicting his public persona of supporting his wife’s conservative agenda.
Kristi Noem’s Dismissal
Kristi Noem was removed from her position as Secretary of Homeland Security in March. Her departure followed criticism, congressional scrutiny, and controversial immigration enforcement measures. President Trump reassigned her subsequently, amid the initial reports about her husband’s alleged online actions. Sotomayor expressed concern about potential retaliation due to Kristi Noem’s oversight of ICE operations and her proximity to a detention center.
Understanding “Bimbofication”
“Bimbofication” is a fetish involving exaggerated femininity, focusing on hyper-stylized or hyper-sexualized appearances. Women who interacted with Noem reported his interest in implants, facial feminization, and clothing linked to this aesthetic. Sotomayor noted that Noem’s communications reflected an intense fascination with being a “trans girl.”
Current Situation
More women are coming forward with allegations against Bryon Noem, raising questions about his conduct and the use of business resources. The potential impact on Kristi Noem’s political career remains unclear as neither has made a comprehensive public statement.
