Crewmember Fatality on Regal Princess Cruise Ship
A tragedy occurred involving a crewmember from the Regal Princess cruise ship. The ship, which departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s Port Everglades on Saturday, experienced the loss near Cancún. The crewmember went overboard and was later confirmed deceased, according to an announcement by the company on Monday.
The identity of the crewmember remains undisclosed at this time. The cruise line expressed their sorrow in a statement, saying, “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the crew’s family and friends during this difficult time. Grief support services are being offered to guests and crew members affected by this event.”
The company expressed gratitude towards local authorities and the crew of the Carnival Jubilee for assisting in the search-and-rescue mission.
Despite the unfortunate incident, the Regal Princess continued its journey, departing the waters near Cancún. The next destination on its schedule is Belize, with plans to complete the seven-day cruise and return to Fort Lauderdale as initially planned this Saturday.
