Dance Events in Chicago This Fall
This fall, Chicago promises an array of captivating dance events. On September 17, a challenging choice awaits with the Joffrey Ballet’s performance of ‘Liliom’ at the Lyric Opera House or ‘Dancing with Bob’ at the Harris Theater, celebrating the works of Trisha Brown and Merce Cunningham alongside visual artist Bob Rauschenberg.
Artistic Residency and Workshops
Brendan Fernandes continues his artist residency with ‘In the Round’ at the Driehaus Museum. This dance and visual art installation is inspired by New York’s Judson Dance Theater. The event runs from September 16 to November 14, featuring open rehearsals and workshops.
Joffrey Ballet’s ‘Liliom’
A new production of John Neumeier’s ‘Liliom’ opens at the Lyric Opera House from September 17 to 27. This ballet, set in a Depression-era amusement park, offers a unique take on the classic play that inspired the musical ‘Carousel.’
