Death Reported at Los Angeles City Hall

Crime scene tape remained on the Spring Street steps of Los Angeles City Hall on Thursday, July 15, 2026. A person was found dead after apparently jumping from the 26th floor of the building.

An internal message reviewed by The Times reported the apparent suicide. The Security Services Division of the Los Angeles Police Department provided this information. Authorities arrived at City Hall around 4:30 p.m., where they found the victim deceased on the steps.

The investigation indicated the individual had jumped from the 26th floor tower. Items such as a cellphone and jacket discovered in the tower were believed to belong to the victim. There was no immediate information on the victim’s identity or circumstances. The memo stated no foul play was involved, and Security Services was handling the investigation.

The Security Services Division directed inquiries to the police. A spokesperson from the LAPD mentioned they had no information available.
