The Controversial NFL Draft Comparison
In a recent episode of Don’t @ Me, host Dan Dakich addressed the contentious remarks made by Colin Kaepernick, who equated the NFL draft to the slave trade. Dakich criticized both Kaepernick and Ryan Clark for supporting this narrative. He questioned the logic of comparing a voluntary, multi-million-dollar sports league to forced labor.
Further, Dakich highlighted what he sees as hypocrisy. He pointed out that while Kaepernick calls the NFL oppressive, he continues to train and hopes for an opportunity to rejoin the league.
Simone Biles’ Car Theft Dilemma
On social media, gymnast Simone Biles shared her recent experience with car theft. After her Porsche was stolen, it was later recovered. Biles expressed reluctance to continue using the vehicle, knowing thieves had driven it. She questioned the implications of buying a new car under these circumstances.
Biles recalled the incident while in Chicago, where masked men took her Porsche from her home. Although the car was eventually found, the theft affects its trade-in value, recorded in the vehicle’s history report.
This was not the first encounter with theft for the Biles-Owens household. During the Winter Olympics in Milan, her husband, Jonathan Owens, had an attempted theft of his shopping bag.
The story illustrates a common reaction to theft. While replacing a stolen item immediately may appear out of touch, Biles considered not wanting to keep the vehicle.
