The Chicago Sky’s DiJonai Carrington has shifted attention away from WNBA All-Star headlines. She has publicly accused her ex-girlfriend, Las Vegas Aces forward NaLyssa Smith, of infidelity. The charges involve relationships with several players within the league.
Fans might recall Carrington from earlier incidents. These include a dust-up with Fever’s Caitlin Clark, outspoken views on Donald Trump, and a postgame clash with veteran columnist Christine Brennan. On May 31, 2025, Carrington played against Smith, by then a member of the Las Vegas Aces, in a game at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
This recent controversy centers around allegations Carrington posted on Threads. She claimed, “Yes, NaLyssa cheated on me with Deja Kelly and Aaliyah Nye, and many more.” This statement contradicted the public image of Carrington and Smith’s relationship.

Carrington and Smith’s relationship started during their time at Baylor. They continued dating into their WNBA careers. They briefly reunited on the Dallas Wings in 2025, but Smith later moved to the Las Vegas Aces.
Upon announcing their breakup, Carrington said they “grew in different directions.” However, her latest allegations narrate a different story. As of now, Smith, Kelly, and Nye have not responded publicly.
Carrington is set to face Smith and Kelly when the Sky hosts the Aces on August 1. Another game against Nye and the Dream is on September 19.
