Dr. Erica Schwartz’s Position on Vaccine Policies in Question
During a Senate hearing on Wednesday concerning her nomination as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. Erica Schwartz faced inquiries about her stance on vaccine policy changes by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Schwartz claimed she was unaware of some changes and did not directly address whether she supports them.
Dr. Schwartz has been considered a conventional selection for the CDC role, largely due to her previous support for vaccines. She served as deputy surgeon general during President Donald Trump’s first term, further solidifying her credentials in public health leadership.
