About 100 miles southeast of San Antonio, heavy storms unleashed a torrent of rain. This downpour quickly rendered roads hazardous. The fast-moving water caught a vehicle at a low-water crossing.
The Beeville Police Department reported on Facebook that officers and firefighters responded swiftly. They arrived as the car was pushed by the floodwaters. A white sedan was swept away, showing the force of the flood.
Rescue Efforts
Officials noted how quickly the situation deteriorated. There was no time to set up barricades before the vehicle arrived. A fire chief tried to flag down the driver, but the warning went unseen.
