An Egyptian TV host, Sarah Khalifa, received a death sentence by hanging in a significant drug case. This case involves allegations against numerous suspects for establishing an organized criminal group to produce and distribute synthetic narcotics.
Khalifa, alongside 11 others, faces execution for allegedly importing materials to create narcotics. The state-supported media outlet Ahram Online provided these details. In Egypt, civilian executions occur by hanging.
Known for her roles as a media figure and beauty clinic owner, Khalifa had appeared on several Egyptian TV channels. Masrawy, a local outlet, noted her previous role as a host on the crime show “Mission Impossible.” Khalifa, who boasts over 2.5 million Instagram followers, was reportedly arrested in Cairo in April 2025 during the investigation.

The case implicated 28 individuals accused of creating a criminal organization. This group allegedly possessed unlicensed firearms and ammunition. State-backed Ahram Online reported that 12 individuals received death penalties, nine received life sentences, and seven saw acquittals.

The organization reportedly functioned as a production and distribution system, with members assigned specific roles. Some imported raw materials, while others manufactured and distributed the drugs, according to the prosecution.
Investigators accused the group of using a residential property to store materials and manufacture drugs. They confiscated over 750 kilograms (or about 1,653 pounds) of synthetic drugs and raw materials. The evidence included statements from 20 witnesses, technical evidence, and digital proof like messages and photos that prosecutors stated documented the alleged crimes.
