Electrical Fire at TikTok’s Headquarters Prompts Evacuation

An electrical fire at TikTok’s headquarters in Culver City led to the evacuation of many workers from the seven-story office building on Wednesday afternoon. The incident prompted a swift response from police and firefighters.

Witnesses at the scene reported hearing loud noises and experiencing power outages. Some employees were trapped in elevators due to the power loss and required assistance to get out before the fire was quickly controlled. Experts are now evaluating both the structural and electrical damage sustained.

The Bristol Parkway building, which serves as TikTok’s consolidated location for its Los Angeles operations, spans 120,000 square feet. Opened in 2020, the facility features multiple floors, creative studios, and murals, with the capacity to accommodate about 1,000 employees.

Culver City Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Atenza confirmed that police and fire personnel arrived at 5800 Bristol Parkway at 2:14 p.m. They evacuated the building promptly. The fire reportedly started on the first floor due to electrical issues. Fortunately, firefighters extinguished the fire quickly.

Currently, a building engineer and Southern California Edison staff continue to assess the damage. The investigation has shown no injuries or signs of arson.

TikTok had moved to this expansive space in January 2020 to better support its operations. The building’s design includes vibrant murals and dedicated spaces for content creators.
