The super PAC held over $100 million to spend against Bores, a significant threat to his candidacy. In response, Bores, who had experience with AI regulation, rewrote a statement from his campaign team to amplify his position against the AI sector.

Bores’s strategy partially succeeded. Although he narrowly lost the race, the controversy attracted attention. Four rival super PACs emerged to support Bores, investing $19 million in his campaign.
