The heavy rainfall led to flash flood warnings and dangerous river levels across the state. The situation necessitated immediate evacuations as emergency responders worked tirelessly.

Uvalde County Rescues

In Uvalde County, Commissioner Roy Coachman reported 25 rescues by 9 a.m. local time on Wednesday. First responders focused on the northern region of Uvalde County. A dam remains intact upstream, but the Leona River is expected to surge an additional 15 feet, as per the Uvalde Police Department.

Impact in Boerne

The National Weather Service declared a flood emergency in Boerne, north of San Antonio, with rainfall reaching up to 12 inches. Chris Shadrock, the city’s communications director, reported water covering Main Street, with ongoing high water rescues.
