A co-pilot of FlyDubai Flight 1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv sought to seize control of the aircraft, according to UAE officials. The attempt was labeled as a terrorist act.

Flight Details and Emergency Landing

Passengers on the FlyDubai flight, which included Israeli nationals, had previously been on another FlyDubai aircraft that made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The flight continued towards Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv on Wednesday.

Attack in the Cockpit

The co-pilot attacked the captain with a crash ax in the cockpit in an effort to hijack the flight. UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi stated the attack was part of an attempt to carry out a terrorist act.
