G7 Summit Focuses on Renewed Sanctions and Geopolitical Tensions
In Evian-les-Bains, France, the United States is poised to reinstate sanctions on Russian oil as part of a renewed focus on the conflict in Ukraine at the Group of Seven (G7) summit. This shift occurs as the recent Iran conflict recedes following an agreement to end hostilities in the Gulf.
President Donald Trump signaled the potential return of these sanctions, which were previously eased to stabilize rising oil prices during the Gulf conflict.
