Police in Georgia have charged 18-year-old Kingston Lammar Bradley with malice murder. This follows the alleged discovery of trash bags containing dismembered remains in his car’s trunk.
Witnesses observed Bradley carrying a container in his apartment complex. Realizing he was seen, he abandoned the container and fled into his apartment, according to Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt during a news conference.
Upon inspecting the container, witnesses found human remains and contacted the police.
Prior Investigations
Earlier, police had responded to Bradley’s home. The family of a missing woman reported her car and phone were there, but no search warrant was executed at that time. After the witnesses’ discovery, police obtained a warrant to search Bradley’s car. They found a tightly pulled garbage bag, potentially outlining a body part, as per a department news release.
The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the contents were human remains.
Victim and Investigation
Smyrna Police Chief Keith Zgonc identified the victim as Shanteria “KT” Mosley. Her family had reported her missing. Holt mentioned Mosley was a DoorDash worker. The company stated she was not working the day she went missing, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
DoorDash informed People Magazine that Mosley’s account last showed activity on Tuesday.
Connection to the Victim
Police are uncertain about the connection between Bradley and Mosley. Holt described the crime as shocking and gruesome.
“This is a shocking crime,” she noted. “I don’t know how else to describe it. I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years and I have been a part of multiple homicide cases and I’ve worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime.”
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are actively searching for additional human remains, Holt confirmed.
Bradley also faces charges for concealing the death of a person.
Lt. Holt said previous calls were made to Bradley’s apartment for domestic issues, but none suggested he was capable of murder.
Bradley was denied bond in Cobb County Magistrate Court on Thursday. His next court appearance is scheduled for October.
