Giraffe Goes Missing from Texas Ranch
Gracie, a giraffe with the striking features of a long neck and lengthy legs, has gone missing from a ranch in Texas. Her unique coat makes her unforgettable, and efforts to find her are ongoing.
The search for Gracie, who is one of two giraffes on this Texas ranch, continues this week after a recent lead did not succeed. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to her safe return, as stated by officials in Real County.
The Cedar Hollow Ranch, where Gracie resides, reported her last sighting west of Leakey. This location is roughly 100 miles northwest of San Antonio. The ranch manager, Vick Jones, explained that Gracie is between 3 to 4 years old and has been living at the ranch since May. Cedar Hollow Ranch houses several hundred animals, including species like impalas, Nubian ibexes, and a Central African antelope.
Gracie disappeared after she was seen feeding on a hillside, a place where the other giraffes seldom go. She maneuvered to an unfenced area beyond an 8-foot gate and exited the ranch, according to Jones.
Jones followed up on a tip that led him to search an area about four miles from the ranch. However, the photos provided were dated, and Gracie was not found there. He emphasized that the search will persist “until we get her home.” He noted that “everybody in the whole world seems to be looking for her.”
