Government Contracts Given to Greenwater Services
Greenwater Services, owned by a donor to former President Trump, has secured two no-bid contracts since Trump resumed office. These contracts have raised eyebrows due to their nature and the direct association with a political figure.
The first contract, valued at $1.7 million, was awarded for cleaning the algae-infested Reflecting Pool. This high-profile task required immediate addressing, highlighting the urgency and significance of such environmental issues.
Greenwater had previously obtained another no-bid contract focused on the Tijuana River. This waterway has struggled with significant trash accumulation, and the contract was a response to this ongoing problem.
A trash boom was installed in the Tijuana River on April 8 to capture and manage debris.
These government contracts without competitive bidding have sparked discussions about transparency and the possible implications of political affiliations in government dealings.
