Gwyneth Paltrow is known for her acting in films like Shakespeare in Love and the Iron Man series. She is also the founder of the lifestyle brand Goop. Born on September 27, 1972, in Los Angeles, Paltrow comes from a family involved in the entertainment industry. Her father, Bruce Paltrow, was a producer and director, and her mother, Blythe Danner, is an actress.
Paltrow’s early career began with her role as Rebecca in the 1991 film Shout. That same year, she appeared in Steven Spielberg’s Hook as young Wendy. Throughout the 1990s, her film credits included titles such as Malice, Se7en, Emma, Sliding Doors, and The Talented Mr. Ripley. Her performance in Shakespeare in Love significantly marked her career.
In the early 2000s, Paltrow appeared in films like Shallow Hal, Proof, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Her role as Pepper Potts in Iron Man (2008) expanded her presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She continued in this role in several Marvel films, including The Avengers and Avengers: Endgame.
Outside of the Marvel series, Paltrow starred in movies such as Contagion and Mordecai. Her television appearances include a stint as Holly Holliday in Glee and Georgina Hobart in The Politician from 2019 to 2020.
Apart from acting, Paltrow is an entrepreneur. She founded Goop in 2008 as a newsletter. Today, it has grown into a large brand offering products in fashion, beauty, wellness, and kitchen items.
Paltrow was married to Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, with whom she has two children, Apple and Moses. Their marriage ended in 2016. In 2018, she married Brad Falchuk, a producer known for his work on Glee, American Horror Story, and Scream Queens.
