Heated Blankets and Pads Recalled Due to Burn Risks
Approximately 195,000 heated blankets and pads, sold on Amazon.com, are being recalled. This follows numerous reports of burn injuries linked to these products, as stated by federal safety regulators.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall notice, highlighting that the internal heating elements can overheat. This poses both fire risks and burn hazards to users.
JKMax, the company responsible for these products, reported 577 incidents of blankets experiencing issues such as smoking, melting, or burning due to overheating. Out of these, 53 cases involved burn injuries, as noted in the filing with the CPSC.

The affected products were available online from September 2022 to July 2026. They came in colors including blue, gray, brown, and red, and were made from polyester fabric, according to the CPSC.
The blanket model numbers under recall include JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B, and JKMAX-8490B. Customers can locate these numbers on the remote control used for adjusting heat levels and on the white label attached to the product packaging.
Regulators advise customers to cease using the blankets and pads immediately. They should contact JKMax to receive a full refund. The recall number is 26-778.
