ICE Officer Gregory Simmons Saves Child From Drowning

ICE Law Enforcement Officer Gregory Simmons displayed remarkable courage when he saved a 6-year-old child from drowning in Pasco County, Florida. Acting swiftly, Simmons performed CPR on the unconscious child and successfully revived them. His immediate response underscores the valiant contributions of law enforcement officers both on and off duty.

Meanwhile, a separate incident in Tennessee led to the arrest of Mikaylee Rae Beirne, aged 31, from Johnson City. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Beirne faces charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect. The charges followed an incident on July 15 where she allegedly attempted to drown one of her children in a backyard pool.

Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton reported that deputies were called to a disturbance at a home on Cochran Road around 5 p.m. Witnesses indicated that Beirne was in the pool with several children while another adult was inside the house. One child ran inside to alert the adult that Beirne was reportedly holding another child underwater. The adult responded by rushing to the pool and demanding Beirne release the child, but she refused.

The adult managed to pull Beirne away, helping the child out of the water. Shortly after, another adult briefly interacted with Beirne before the authorities arrived. Beirne departed from the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. The involved children were moved inside for safety while emergency services were contacted. The child reportedly sustained minor injuries and bruising.

Deputies later located Beirne and took her into custody. She is being held at the Washington County Detention Center with a bond set at $50,000.
