Indiana Teacher Sentenced for Sending Nude Images to Student

An Indiana substitute teacher named Cassidy Carter received a two-year jail sentence for sending nude images to a 14-year-old middle school student. The sentencing followed her guilty plea to two counts of battery leading to moderate bodily injury, as reported by WXIX-TV.

Carter, a former substitute teacher at South Dearborn Community School Corporation, faced initial charges of child solicitation. However, the charge was altered, reportedly due to the victim relocating from the area and not wishing to participate further in the case. Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens explained the circumstances.

In December 2023, the student reported the situation to a school resource officer, who subsequently informed the principal, according to court documents. The student described how he and Carter became friends on Snapchat, where Carter sent him nude photos regularly, often following her showers and late at night. The student also mentioned that Carter expressed feelings of love towards him.

Prosecutors confirmed that investigators found the incriminating photos and several messages on Carter’s phone.
