Investigation into Lynette Hooker’s Disappearance Continues
Donna Hooker, the stepmother of Brian Hooker, has spoken out about her stepson’s involvement in the case of his missing wife, Lynette Hooker. During a livestream appearance on the Surviving the Survivor podcast, she expressed her doubts about Brian’s version of events, stating, ‘Knowing what I know about Brian, he lied about everything.’
Lynette Hooker, a 55-year-old mother from Michigan, disappeared while on a sailing trip in the Bahamas with her husband. She was reported missing on April 4 after Brian claimed she fell from a dinghy. The couple were on their sailboat named ‘Soulmate’ at the time.
Initially, Bahamian authorities detained Brian for questioning regarding his wife’s disappearance. Although he was eventually released, he returned to the U.S. in mid-April. Despite the ongoing investigation, Donna Hooker noted that she has not been contacted by authorities, even though she believes she can provide key insights.
“He was quiet and for a long time he would just stay in his room and not do much of anything,” Donna Hooker remarked about Brian’s nature during his teenage years.
Donna Hooker, who was married to Brian’s father for over 40 years, described her stepson as intelligent yet reserved. She lived with him during part of his teenage years. She last saw Brian in April 2022 during a visit to his father after George Hooker’s stroke.
The U.S. Coast Guard has seized the sailboat ‘Soulmate’ as part of the investigation. Donna has not heard from Brian or his sister Jennifer since Lynette’s disappearance. Jennifer is said to have traveled to the Bahamas following Brian’s release by Bahamian police. Despite this, she has not responded to Donna’s messages.
Authorities, including the Coast Guard Investigative Service, remain actively involved in the case, which continues to unfold. Brian Hooker himself has not been charged with any crime related to his wife’s disappearance. His attorney stated that Brian has been cooperating with the investigation.
The search for Lynette Hooker is still ongoing, and Donna Hooker remains committed to aiding the investigation in any way possible.
