Investigation Underway in Chicago’s Grand Crossing Homicide

Authorities are investigating a homicide after the body of a 59-year-old man was found in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood. The discovery was made early Thursday, as confirmed by the Chicago police.

The victim was located in the 300 block of West 76th Street, having suffered lacerations and trauma to the face. The police found him shortly before 5:15 a.m. He was quickly transported to UChicago Medicine but was pronounced dead on arrival.

An autopsy is planned for Friday to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, detectives from the Wentworth Area are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. No arrests have been made yet, police report.
