Israel Dismisses Peace Proposal, Demands Hamas Disarmament

Israel has rejected a 15-point peace proposal concerning the Gaza situation. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that Israeli forces would not leave Gaza until Hamas fully disarms.

During a Cabinet meeting, Netanyahu stated, “Israel rejects the 15-point Gaza document proposed by the Board of Peace. The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed.”

The disarmament must be genuine, not fictitious, he emphasized.

Netanyahu continues discussions with the United States regarding Hamas disarmament. However, he insists that any agreement must result in Hamas surrendering all its weapons.

Hamas claims commitment to a previously agreed Gaza roadmap, mediated in Cairo. Senior official Basem Naim urged mediators and the U.S. to press Netanyahu to adhere to the roadmap.

Netanyahu remains aligned with President Donald Trump on key issues, yet opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state in Gaza or the West Bank.

“As long as I am prime minister, there will be no Palestinian state, not in Gaza and not in Judea and Samaria,” Netanyahu declared.

The rejection of this proposal highlights challenges in converting the ceasefire into a lasting peace settlement. Key issues remain, particularly the sequence of Hamas disarmament and the Israeli military’s withdrawal.

Netanyahu affirmed continued collaboration with Washington while prioritizing Israel’s security. On regional military actions, he noted Israeli operations in Lebanon and praised U.S. cooperation in addressing Iranian influences.

He reiterated the importance of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, stressing that Israel’s security is non-negotiable.
