James Triantos Joins Cubs Roster for Pittsburgh Series
PITTSBURGH — On Friday afternoon, before starting his pregame routine, James Triantos paused on the field at PNC Park. This wasn’t his first visit, having attended a Pirates game 13 years ago from his hometown in Virginia. Now, he returned as a major leaguer. The Chicago Cubs elevated the 23-year-old from Triple A for their series against the Pirates, replacing outfielder Kevin Alcántara, who was sent to Iowa.
Triantos expressed his excitement about joining the major league team. “It’s the same game, but it’s really cool to be here. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and I just want to go compete.
