The New York Giants face the prospect of playing the remainder of the season without their quarterback, Jaxson Dart. According to a source confirmed to OutKick, Dart’s left knee injury is still under evaluation and decisions are yet to be made regarding his participation.
Dart suffered a knee injury early in the game against the Los Angeles Rams. Both he and the medical team are assessing the situation to decide the next steps. Should surgery be necessary due to a detached MCL ligament, Dart could be out for four to five months.
New York Giants coach John Harbaugh stated, “Evaluations are ongoing. We haven’t got any final decisions yet.”
Harbaugh emphasized that a final decision involves multiple parties and will not be rushed. He will consult with Dart after he receives a second opinion on the recent MRI results.
Reports suggest Dart has a sprained MCL, which led to his absence in upcoming games, including Sunday’s match against the Tennessee Titans. Jameis Winston is set to take over as the starting quarterback, with Jake Haener possibly moving up from the practice squad. The Giants may also consider bringing in Brandon Allen.
The team has been plagued with injuries in recent years, affecting key players such as Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, Andrew Thomas, and Saquon Barkley. These setbacks challenge the Giants’ aspirations each season.
