Julian Edelman recently engaged Joe Burrow in a word association game with names from the Bengals’ organization, including Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Dexter Lawrence. This interaction highlighted key players from the team, which faced a challenge on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Despite setting aside Joe Burrow’s interception during the first half, the Bengals couldn’t afford to lose any offensive players. The synergy of Burrow, Chase, Higgins, and Mike Gesicki is essential to the team’s success.

In the game, a pivotal moment unfolded when Jaguars’ cornerback Jarrian Jones committed a face mask penalty against Chase. This occurred during the second quarter when Chase attempted to outrun Jones after receiving a pass. Jones’ grip eventually led to a hit from linebacker Ventrell Miller. As a result, Jones faced a penalty for his actions.
After the incident, Chase was evaluated for a potential concussion and was listed as questionable for the remainder of the game, which he did not return to. By halftime, Cincinnati had managed only three points, partly due to Jacksonville’s strong defense. Chase’s absence left a noticeable gap in the offense.
However, Burrow connected with Gesicki for a touchdown in the second half, aiming to bring the Bengals back in contention. Prior to this game, Chase, a five-time Pro Bowler, was performing well, with 16 catches for 173 yards and three touchdowns in the past two games.
At the start of Week 4, Cincinnati held a 2-1 record. For more sports updates, OutKick content is now accessible on the Fox News app.
