A recent collaboration between the FBI and Texas authorities led to the arrest of over 276 individuals for suspected child exploitation and the rescue of 89 children. This operation, part of Operation Soteria Shield, is an extension of the national strategy Operation Iron Pursuit. The initiative focused on individuals involved in online sexual exploitation, abuse, trafficking, and the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in North Texas, according to the FBI.
FBI Director Kash Patel emphasized the agency’s commitment to dismantling child predator networks and aiding victims. He noted the operation’s achievements as significant steps toward this goal. During an interview, Patel highlighted, “Every single day this FBI is moving more aggressively than ever before to destroy child predator networks and save innocent victims all over the country.”

Conducted during March and April, the operation sought offenders exploiting children through online platforms, social media, messaging apps, and other digital channels. Dallas Police Department Chief Daniel Comeaux stressed the significance of protecting children from exploitation, calling it a critical part of law enforcement efforts.
“Protecting children from those who seek to exploit them is among the most important work we do in law enforcement,” Comeaux stated.
Operation Soteria Shield involved cooperation among 91 law enforcement agencies across Texas, as confirmed by the FBI. The operation resulted in the saving of young lives and the reuniting of families, as well as the prevention of future crimes. Praising the execution of teams, Patel stated, “These are young lives saved, families reunited, and future crimes prevented by brave law enforcement doing their jobs.”
The success of this latest operation is part of a broader effort, where since last year, the FBI has identified more than 6,940 child victims, an increase of 144%, and arrested almost 3,000 predators, a rise of 70%. The FBI director affirmed that the agency’s pace of justice will continue without slowing down.
Earlier, the FBI revealed that over 350 offenders were arrested in connection with child sexual abuse as part of Operation Iron Pursuit in April. This nationwide effort aims to locate child victims and apprehend sex predators.
