Former Brat Pack member Judd Nelson was spotted looking quite different while out in West Hollywood recently. At 66 years old, the actor was seen riding a motorcycle adorned with yellow rims and accents.
Nelson’s attire included a long beard, long hair covered by either a gray baseball cap or a black helmet. He chose camo pants, a red and blue flannel shirt, and a long black coat. His look was completed with black sunglasses.
Nelson gained fame in the 1980s as part of the Brat Pack, a term used to describe a group of young actors frequently starring in films together. The name was derived from the Rat Pack, which included Las Vegas entertainers like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
Other notable members of the Brat Pack featured in “The Breakfast Club” were Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall, among others. Writer David Blum coined the term in a 1985 New York Magazine article following the releases of “St. Elmo’s Fire” and “The Breakfast Club.”
In 2024, Nelson voiced his dislike for the nickname, noting he found it strange to be characterized as entitled and unprofessional when his experience was the opposite. He expressed how it felt odd that the article portrayed the group as close friends when he actually lost touch after moving from New York to Los Angeles.
Andrew McCarthy, another Brat Pack member, produced the 2024 documentary “Brats,” featuring reflections from several members on the label. Nelson declined participation, questioning the need for revisiting the term.
The Brat Pack starred in other films like “The Outsiders,” “Sixteen Candles,” and “Pretty In Pink.”
