Justin Tucker’s NFL Career Faces Uncertainty After Workout with Jets
Justin Tucker, recognized as one of the greatest kickers in NFL history, participated in a workout with the New York Jets on Wednesday, as reported by The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero. Alongside Tucker, kickers Michael Badgley and Joshua Karty also took part in the session.
Tucker has not been active in the NFL since the 2024 season. He faced a 10-game suspension last season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. In January 2025, The Baltimore Banner disclosed allegations from 16 female massage therapists who accused Tucker of sexual misconduct from 2012 to 2016 at spas around Baltimore.
The Baltimore Ravens released Tucker in May 2025 after 13 seasons. Tucker has not faced criminal charges or civil lawsuits related to these claims. He, along with his wife Amanda and his legal team, has strongly denied the accusations. In a statement to OutKick, Tucker’s attorneys highlighted an email from one accuser expressing pleasure in their work relationship, which they argue casts doubt on the allegations.
The information does not prove Tucker’s innocence but raises questions.
Comparisons have been drawn to the case of Deshaun Watson, another NFL player accused by multiple massage therapists. Watson settled 23 civil lawsuits and received an 11-game suspension in 2022. Despite this, he secured a fully guaranteed contract with the Cleveland Browns, though he has not returned to his peak performance levels.
The Ravens decided to release Tucker following public allegations, leaving his NFL future uncertain. Tucker’s 2024 performance marked his statistically worst season, with a field goal completion rate of 73.3%. NFL teams consider both a player’s off-field issues and on-field performance. To date, teams have deemed Tucker not worth the potential baggage.
