Washington — Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, will leave her position at the end of August. She will transition to a role as a top outside adviser, announced President Trump on Truth Social.
President Trump stated Leavitt is stepping down to prioritize her family. She gave birth to her second child, a daughter, in May and has only recently resumed her duties at the White House. “Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family. A decision I totally understand and respect,” Mr. Trump expressed. “Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party as we aim to win the Midterm Elections. Karoline has been a real leader in the White House and has excelled, fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom since 2018, including our Re-Election Campaign of 2024. Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in history. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!”

The future White House press secretary or interim appointee remains undetermined. Leavitt has served in her current role since the start of President Trump’s second term. “The truth is, since returning to the White House after my daughter’s birth, I have felt that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while meeting the demands of the White House Press Secretary role,” Leavitt disclosed. “This is why I have decided to leave and embark on a new chapter. President Trump has asked me to serve as a top advisor on the outside, and I will continue to advocate for MAGA and the Republican Party.”
