Keith Sonderling Confirmed as Labor Secretary

The Senate confirmed Keith Sonderling as the labor secretary on Wednesday night. This decision follows several notable firings and resignations from President Donald Trump’s Cabinet this year.

Sonderling had been serving as the acting labor secretary since April after Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the previous secretary, resigned. The confirmation vote occurred shortly before the Senate planned to recess to campaign for the upcoming midterm elections on November 3.

An image dated September 18, taken by photographer Allison Robbert, shows Sonderling fulfilling his duties during this transitional period.
