WWE personality Danhausen has received significant praise from pro wrestling enthusiasts and New York Knicks fans for aiding in the franchise’s triumph over its long-standing curse, culminating in an NBA championship.
After Danhausen’s initial “curse removal,” Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson was hesitant to discuss the mystical happenings behind the scenes. However, he did mention that he and the Knicks’ trainers acknowledge Roman Reigns before each game.
Brunson was instrumental in helping the Knicks clinch their first NBA title in 53 years. He opened up about Danhausen’s influence during a Monday night appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” expressing initial doubt but admitting belief in the phenomenon now.
The fervor surrounding Danhausen was evident in the lead-up to the NBA Finals. Prior to the event, Danhausen had “cursed” the Cleveland Cavaliers, a gesture that coincided with the Knicks’ arrival at the Finals.
After Brunson’s reference, Danhausen responded online, affirming the belief in his abilities. “DANHAUSEN KNEW THEY BELIEVED,” he posted, thanking Jalen Brunson and others for recognizing his unique skills.
Brunson, crowned the NBA Finals MVP, achieved a remarkable average of 32.6 points per game throughout the five-game series, including a 45-point surge in the decisive matchup.
Danhausen made his debut in the WWE during the Elimination Chamber event held on February 28, 2026, at the United Center in Chicago.
Given Brunson’s prior appearances in WWE programming, further collaborations may be anticipated.
