Late Night Hosts Joke About Trump’s NBA Finals Appearance

Jimmy Kimmel and other late-night hosts poked fun at President Trump following his appearance at Game 3 of the NBA finals in New York City. Trump was seen on camera seemingly nodding off during the game.

Kimmel quipped that Trump made history by becoming “the first sitting president to shut down a major United States city so he could take a nap in front of a sold-out crowd at the NBA finals.” He humorously dubbed Trump “Dozes Malone,” suggesting that he “spent who-knows-how-many million taxpayer dollars to get there, and he goes out like a light.”

Other hosts joined in on the jokes. Jimmy Fallon mentioned Trump’s sleep at the game, humorously attributing the Knicks’ loss to him. Fallon said, “Trump doesn’t want to be blamed, so today he called the NBA and demanded they ‘find’ five more points for the Knicks.”

Desi Lydic also joined the fun, reminding the president that he shouldn’t sleep through the game, saying, “Sir, you can’t sleep through the game. You’re the president, not Game 3 referee Marc Davis.”
