Law Enforcement Responds to Shooting Near White House
Law enforcement is actively responding to a shooting incident near the White House. FBI Director Kash Patel provided updates on this developing situation. Journalists present at the scene reported hearing multiple gunshots. The U.S. Secret Service advised them to remain in the press briefing room, restricting movement for safety.
According to the Secret Service, there have been reports of shots fired near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, close to the White House. They are working with personnel on-site to verify these reports.
FBI Director Patel shared in a social media update that officers are on the scene addressing the situation. He mentioned plans to keep the public informed as more details become available. President Donald Trump was present inside the White House during this time. Currently, there are no reports of injuries.
The Metropolitan Police Department has not provided additional information at this time.
