Leon Slater Shines at TNA Lockdown

Leon Slater experienced a memorable evening during Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Lockdown pay-per-view on Sunday. Slater kicked off the event with a crucial match against Cedric Alexander for the TNA X Division Championship. The stakes were high; if Slater lost, he agreed to give up recognition in the TNA history books.

All matches on the Lockdown main card were held in a steel cage, and Slater took full advantage of this setting. At one point, he ascended to the middle of the cage and executed a flying elbow drop. Despite Alexander’s efforts to keep him grounded, Slater proved too formidable for his opponent.

Slater used Alexander’s signature move, the Lumbar Check, three times before executing a 450 swanton from the top rope. He pinned Alexander and was overcome with emotion, realizing he regained the X Division title.

Later in the night, Slater humorously acknowledged the brevity of his title reign. Following a victory by Nic and Ryan Nemeth over The Hardys to secure the TNA World Tag Team Championship, Slater entered the ring. He announced his intention to cash in his Option C opportunity against Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship.

Option C allows Slater to exchange his X Division Championship for a chance at the world title. Consequently, Slater relinquished the X Division title. The showdown between Nemeth and Slater for the TNA World Championship is scheduled for Bound For Glory on October 11 in Tampa, Florida.
