Lucy Davis, known for her role in “The Office,” recently shared her Stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis. After a year and a half of quietly battling the disease, she revealed the cancer has spread to her spine, right hip, and ribs.
“The initial lump that I felt wasn’t a ‘lump’ as such; rather a kind of hard spot. Really tiny,” Davis wrote on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of getting checked even if symptoms seem minor.
Instead of focusing on her prognosis, Davis is embracing the time she has left. She acknowledges the lessons learned from her experience with cancer.
As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can,” she said.
Despite the challenges, including severe pain that often requires the use of a wheelchair, Davis maintains a positive outlook.
“The pain can really be something else,” she acknowledged. “But I’m at peace with whatever comes next.” Davis speaks of finding joy, purpose, and peace, continuing to act and advocate for animal rights.
She remains committed to her passion for advocacy and acting. “Acting is one of the biggest joys in my life,” she expressed. Her career, which began in the 1990s, includes roles in productions like “Pride and Prejudice,” “Shaun of the Dead,” and “Wonder Woman.”
