Marco Rubio Discusses UAPs and Government Transparency

Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed the topic of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) in a recent interview, clarifying his stance on government transparency and his ongoing interest in the subject. In an exchange with Katie Miller on “The Katie Miller Podcast,” Rubio noted that President Donald Trump would likely reveal evidence of UAPs through a primetime address if the administration had concrete knowledge.

Rubio expressed his curiosity about UAPs stemming from his time in the Senate. He emphasized the importance of understanding what flies over military installations. “There are things flying over our military installations, and they’re not ours, and we should look into this,” he stated.

“So, I don’t call it a conspiracy. I don’t know if I, I don’t know the answer to any of it. I’m just, you know, asking the questions about, we should know what’s flying over our airspace. But I don’t think that’s a conspiracy theory.” – Marco Rubio

The conversation follows recent actions by President Trump, who directed the Department of War to declassify files related to UAPs and extraterrestrial life. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly highlighted Trump’s commitment to transparency, contrasting previous administrations’ approaches.

Rubio also shared that he used to mention UAPs as a diversion in conversations with reporters, but he stressed the subject’s seriousness. “It was extraordinarily effective as a diversionary tactic. In addition, it’s also a very legitimate topic that we should be covering,” he said.

The administration took steps to allow former government employees to share information about UAPs without violating nondisclosure agreements. A senior administration official clarified this was not a move to declassify information but to facilitate government cooperation.

Joshua Golembeske, a UFO investigator, commented on Rubio’s previous use of UAPs as a diversion, noting it was part of what Rubio aimed to address. He acknowledged Rubio’s significant role in the creation of the UAP report during his time on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Golembeske also highlighted issues with intelligence transparency, citing whistleblower testimony that key programs were kept from Congress and relevant oversight offices. “Just because ‘I wasn’t briefed’ doesn’t mean there’s nothing there. It might just mean the compartment did its job,” he noted.
