Meghan Markle’s Approval Rating Reaches New Low in the UK

In the second quarter of 2026, Meghan Markle’s net approval rating in the UK fell to minus 43, marking her lowest yet through the YouGov Ratings system. During the period from April to June, 18 percent of respondents expressed a favorable view of the Duchess of Sussex, while 61 percent had a negative opinion. This was a significant decline from the first quarter, where she held a net approval of minus 21, with 26 percent liking her and 47 percent disliking her. This change reflects a 22-point drop in net approval quarter to quarter.

The new low comes amid a challenging year for Markle. In March, Netflix ceased its partnership as an equity supporter in her lifestyle venture, As Ever. April saw Markle and Prince Harry embark on a well-documented trip to Australia. In May, she delivered a speech in Geneva, Switzerland, addressing the dangers of social media.
