Michelle Obama Faces Criticism Over ‘Good Morning America’ Interview

Michelle Obama, the former first lady, faced criticism from conservatives following her appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America. During a light-hearted segment with Robin Roberts, she and former President Barack Obama were asked to describe their next chapter in one word at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.

Barack Obama responded with the word “Fun,” while Michelle Obama chose “Me.” Roberts responded positively to her answer, calling it a “mic drop” moment.

“You seem to be grading her higher on her answers,” Barack Obama joked about the favorable reaction.

Conservatives reacted to the clip shared on social media, with some accusing Michelle Obama of self-centeredness. Stephen Miller, a Spectator contributing editor, commented on this, as did commentator Danny De Urbina, who criticized her response and implied a broader cultural issue.

The interview took place at the newly developed Obama Presidential Center. The center, spanning 19.3 acres on Chicago’s South Side, will feature a museum and public spaces.

Barack Obama highlighted its significance, saying:

“As a consequence, a little girl born on the South Side of Chicago and some mixed kid, you know, born in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii, you know, could end up being part of the process of building and making better the greatest country on Earth.”

The Obama Foundation announced that the grand opening ceremony was set for June 18, with public access beginning June 19. Events would continue through June 21.
