Video footage has captured a dramatic incident aboard a flight bound for London where a midair confrontation occurred between two passengers. Traveling from Sylhet, Bangladesh, to London Heathrow, the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight was disrupted on September 16.
Eyewitnesses reported that the altercation began as a verbal disagreement and quickly escalated to a physical confrontation. Both men engaged in a fight in the aircraft aisle, leading to chaos as passengers attempted to intervene. The men’s aggression resulted in one having a badly torn T-shirt.
Fellow travelers, including children and elderly passengers, reacted with screams and efforts to separate the individuals. Crew members soon intervened to resolve the situation. Jam Press, a news agency, shared the incident, noting that it was later seen on social media along with a confirmation from Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Mohiuddin Ahmed, the airline’s general manager of public relations, stated, “At some point during the flight, two passengers got into a physical altercation.” Following crew involvement, the situation was settled.
“The cabin crew later intervened and resolved the situation between them.”
The Metropolitan Police at Heathrow Airport have been contacted by Fox News Digital regarding any actions taken post-incident, though responses are still pending. Efforts to reach Biman Bangladesh Airlines for further comment have also been unsuccessful.
Sylhet, situated in northeastern Bangladesh, lies approximately 125 miles from Dhaka, the capital. Flight durations between Sylhet and London can exceed eleven hours, according to data from FlightAware.
This confrontation adds to a series of recent passenger-related disturbances on commercial flights. A similar episode occurred with EasyJet earlier this summer when a flight from Tenerife to Liverpool was forced to return due to a brawl involving numerous passengers shortly after departure.
In a separate incident in 2024, a passenger on American Airlines faced legal consequences after allegedly injuring a flight attendant while trying to open a cabin door, prompting others to restrain him with tape.
