WASHINGTON, DC – March 11, 2026: Mike Rowe, founder of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, discussed infrastructure expansion at the BlackRock Infrastructure Summit in Washington, DC. This summit, hosted by the global investment management company, brought together leaders from various sectors.
Separately, Mike Rowe, known for his work on “Dirty Jobs,” has filed a lawsuit against Discovery. The case alleges that Discovery owes him over $2 million for narrating the series “Deadliest Catch.” According to People Magazine, the legal action was initiated on Wednesday by Rowe and his production company, Lab Rat.
The lawsuit claims that Discovery Talent Services breached a contract by failing to compensate Rowe for narrating at least 51 episodes of “Deadliest Catch” and its related shows. Since 2005, Rowe has been the voice behind these shows. He asserts an agreement with Discovery established in 2020, guaranteeing him $40,000 per episode regardless of narration.
Issues arose when Rowe reportedly did not narrate five episodes during the program’s 21st season. However, his company discovered that international versions of the series differed materially from those broadcast in the U.S. Consequently, they argue these should also be covered by the existing agreement.
Lab Rat claims Discovery Talent Services owes at least $2.04 million, covering losses from 12 extended episodes of “Deadliest Catch” and includes interest. Rowe, along with his company, is demanding a jury trial for the resolution.
Notably, this is not Rowe’s first lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery. In June 2025, he sued for unpaid residuals related to streaming platforms carrying “Deadliest Catch.”
