Molly Sims, the 53-year-old model, has spoken out about the false beauty secrets often promoted in Hollywood. In an interview with US Magazine, Sims criticized the deceptive claims some make about maintaining their camera-ready looks. She recalled that during earlier years, models were more transparent, openly discussing cosmetic procedures. “Hollywood people would say, ‘I just drink a lot of water, and I slept eight hours.’ I’m like, ‘No, you didn’t,'” Sims stated.
Sims shared a recent dinner conversation with friends where the topic was everyone’s cosmetic surgeries. This candid conversation highlighted that looking fresh-faced is more than simply hydrating and resting well. Sims emphasized the encouragement it provides women in places like Kentucky or Ohio to understand realistic beauty choices.
The model reflected on her career journey, from her early days during the ‘heroin chic’ era. This period demanded models be significantly underweight, a trend she found personally challenging. “I went from Vanderbilt with my sorority sisters, where you’re dipping your fries in a Wendy’s Frosty,” she mentioned, underscoring the harsh transition to a different world standard.
Today, Sims approaches her appearance with a focus on health rather than trying to look younger. Her fitness goal now is “to look the best I can at every age.” Rather than pursuing a skinny look, she aims for a healthy lifestyle. Leaving Vanderbilt University in the early ’90s to model, Sims gained recognition with her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue appearance in 2000 and several times since, including in 2026.
Recently, Sims expressed on Instagram her confidence and satisfaction in her appearance now, more than ever before. On her social media, she disclosed that her key to maintaining a bikini-ready body is bone broth, citing its anti-aging benefits, digestive aid, joint support, and improved sleep.
