During the Sports Illustrated and Tight End University’s Tight Ends & Friends Concert in Nashville, Smith shared his new objective with People magazine. The “Bulletproof” singer expressed a desire to reach below 200 pounds, mentioning he initially weighed around 275 pounds. His ultimate goal is now around 185 pounds.
Motivated by the wish to deliver his best performance for fans, Smith emphasizes the importance of maintaining energy on stage. This focus on personal well-being reflects in his newfound ability to wear clothes he enjoys and feels comfortable in. “This is a large,” he remarked about his red carpet clothing, noting a significant shift from being a double XL for several years.
The benefits of weight loss extend beyond wardrobe changes. Smith has noticed marked improvements in his day-to-day experiences. “I don’t sweat anymore,” he revealed, appreciating the capacity to move more freely when performing on stage.
Smith’s weight loss journey began after a health scare in 2024, leading him to address habits of overeating and excessive drinking. Reducing his caloric intake helped him initially lose nearly 50 pounds within a few months. Although he still contends with binge eating, Smith views indulgent foods like mac and cheese as occasional treats, not dietary staples.
While acknowledging he has yet to reach his ultimate goal, Smith’s contentment and confidence have increased. He relishes the improvements in his physical well-being and appearance, promising to persist on this path for continued health benefits.
