Netanyahu Extends 250th American Independence Day Greetings

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared his felicitations with the United States on its 250th Independence Day. He emphasized the enduring alliance between the two nations. As Americans commemorate this milestone, there is an opportunity to reflect on historical foundations and core values associated with the country’s inception. These values largely derive from Judeo-Christian ethics, influencing the establishment and evolution of the United States.

The American government system reflects truths highlighted over 2,500 years ago in Jewish teachings. Elements like the three branches of government trace inspiration to the prophet Isaiah. The national motto, “In God We Trust,” on currency further underscores reliance on the divine authority known to figures like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Currently, support for Israel signifies commitment to foundational American principles. Observations from leadership within the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces highlight the courage displayed by those defending Israel. Encounters with communities affected by conflict further showcase a commitment to freedom under pressing conditions.

Backing Israel transcends politics. It calls for acknowledgment of the shared foundational values between Jewish history and America’s founding principles. Despite generational shifts, it’s crucial to nurture these connections.

Current data from Infinity Concepts and Grey Matter Research reflect a generational gap in evangelical support for Israel. Only 29% of evangelicals under 35 years old consider Jewish people as chosen by God. This poses potential challenges to maintaining ties rooted in shared historical narratives.

Recent engagements between the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) and Israeli military further symbolize the strategic alliance in defense and security. Joint initiatives, targeting nuclear threats, reflect necessary collaboration grounded in mutual values of freedom and hope.

Marking 250 years of liberty, the United States is encouraged to uphold moral principles that underpin its identity. Aaron Evans, vice president with the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, stresses the importance of sustained partnership with Israel, recognizing its pivotal influence on America’s foundational ethos.
