Rapper Nicki Minaj shared her career advice for young Americans entering the workforce and defended her support for President Donald Trump during an exclusive interview. She detailed her journey from waiting tables at Red Lobster to achieving global success in the music industry.
“I did customer service for telephone companies. I was a telemarketer. I sold fire extinguishers. I did everything,” Minaj told Fox News.
Minaj emphasized that the lessons and values gained from her early jobs remain vital in her career today. “The skills I learned back then, like problem-solving and communication, still apply when I’m around superstars or wealthy individuals,” she explained. She advised young people not to overlook this period of their lives, as it lays the groundwork for future success.
She also stressed financial prudence, encouraging young Americans to save money, no matter their income level.
The rapper has supported Trump’s efforts, particularly in addressing Christian persecution in Nigeria. Recently, Minaj participated in the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition, serving as a celebrity judge.
Minaj addressed criticism for her support of the president, stating she feels an honor working with the administration and appreciates Trump’s approachable nature. “He understands people,” she said.
When asked about her next tour, following a hiatus after 2024, Minaj urged patience as she focuses on her “businesswoman era.” She reassured her fans, known as “Barbz,” of her ongoing commitment, though she requested fewer questions about future concerts.
“Barbz, I love you very much,” she declared.
